Ngassa Dindi

Ngassa Dindi is an attorney specialising in corporate and commercial law. Ngassa manages the team that works on intellectual property contentious matters such as oppositions, cancellations, passing off claims, etc. Ngassa leads the team at Lexglobe IP Services which contributes Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar chapters in the Manual for the Handling of Applications for Patents, Designs and Trade Marks Throughout the World, which was first published in 1927. The Manual Industrial Property, which is commonly knows as the “Brown Book”, is the most comprehensive reference book on international intellectual property in the World. Ngassa has an LL.B degree from University of Dar es Salaam (1992), LL.M degree from the London School of Economics (1994) in corporate and commercial law and another LL.M degree from the Free University of Brussels (1996) in international and comparative law. He has represented a lot of companies in contentious intellectual matters and has wealth of knowledge and experience in intellectual property field. In the past, Ngassa was seconded on short time basis to two English law firms (originally seconded at Herbert Smith and subsequently was seconded to Denton Wilde Sapte).

Yande Panya

With more than 15 years of intellectual property law experience, Yande Panya leads Lexglobe IP Services’ team handling non-contentious matters, including registrations, renewals, licenses and assignments. She holds degrees from Nottingham Law School in England and the University of Dar es Salaam, and has attended numerous non-degree courses in intellectual property. Yande’s management skills are largely responsible for Lexglobe IP Services’ recognition as the most efficient intellectual property law firm in Tanzania, and she plays a crucial role in updating the Tanzania and Zanzibar chapters of the Manual for the Handling of Applications for Patents, Designs and Trade Marks Throughout the World.

Salma Mengwa

An accountant, Salma Mengwa manages Lexglobe IP Services’ finance unit, including the firm’s accounts payable and accounts receivable portfolios. Salma attends to all client billing matters and handles invoicing and payments for the firm’s sub-agents and government authorities.

Salma also oversees Lexglobe IP Services’ managerial and operational matters. With in-depth knowledge of the specialized software applications used to track and maintain intellectual property portfolios, she is an indispensible member of our team that manages and maintains clients’ trademark and patent renewals as well.
